Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly now admitted defeat in their pursuit of Manchester City star Bernardo Silva.

The French giants have been following the 29-year-old for some time.

Bernardo’s future has been up in the air for most of the summer.

And it is not the first summer there has been speculation about him.

But now, it is looking as though City are set to keep the world-class star, who started against Burnley on Friday night in City’s first Premier League game of 2023/24.

Recently, it was reported that Barcelona have also given up signing the Portugal international.

Bernardo Silva to sign two-year extension with Man City as PSG give up

Last night, Le10 Sport reported that PSG are now giving up their pursuit of Bernardo.

PSG had apparently been tracking the attacking midfielder for around a year.

But the publication say the French giants will not sign Bernardo this summer, after apparently offering just under £52 million earlier this summer.

City have constantly said ‘no’ to PSG from the very first time contact was made in June 2022.

Le10 Sport say that Bernardo has actually now reached an agreement with City to extend his contract by a further two years.

As such, PSG will now throw in the towel.

Amazing news if true

The fact Bernardo looks to be extending his contract by a further two years at City is amazing.

PSG have seemingly hoped for a long time that they could sign the £150,000-a-week star.

Obviously Bernardo has played in France before with AS Monaco, and it’s likely PSG officials have admired him for years.

But City appear to have convinced the ‘special’ maestro to not only stay, but extend his contract at the Etihad too.

If City announced an extension for Bernardo in the coming days, fans will be absolutely elated.

He is without doubt one of the finest players in the game today, and him staying feels absolutely massive for the club as they seek more silverware this season.
