It has been reported that Burnley are keen on completing a transfer for James Trafford in the summer.
This comes from the Daily Mail, after the 20-year-old’s loan spell at Bolton Wanderers has come to an end after two fruitful years.
With Burnley preparing to make an emphatic return to the Premier League under Vincent Kompany’s guidance, James Trafford, who was a part of the club’s academy side has caught their eye ahead of the summer transfer window.
Burnley plotting James Trafford transfer from Manchester City
Bolton boss Ian Evatt has previously expressed his admiration towards the Englishman, telling The Bolton News that he has done an ‘unbelievable job’ in goal.
So much so that after his first season on loan was a resounding success, Trafford was asked by the League Two side to sign on a temporary basis for another campaign, which he ended up doing.
However, it has now been claimed that Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford has been eyed in the transfer market by Burnley.

It has been clarified that while the Clarets are keen on his signature, he is currently not viewed as a No.1.
Unlikely that Manchester City sell James Trafford
With the youngster having signed a contract extension in July last year, one doubts whether City would now simply sanction his sale.
It is likelier that Manchester City reject a transfer approach from Burnley and instead send James Trafford on loan to a club where he gets regular starting minutes.
Or, the alternative remains that the player himself realises that he cannot contend for a starting place at the Etihad Stadium, with Stefan Ortega also impressing in his debut season and leaves the club to start games elsewhere.
Under no circumstance would Trafford perhaps like to merely warm the bench, while City’s openness to sell such a highly-rated prospect also seems improbable for the time being.
Manchester City legend Vincent Kompany is likely driving this move, as he must be clued up about just how talented of a goalkeeper James Trafford is.
