Tommy Doyle will not be playing for Wolves during this weekend’s Premier League match against Manchester City.
Following their midweek defeat to Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup, the Manchester club will travel to Molineux to take on Gary O’Neil’s side for their latest Premier League fixture.
With summer signing Matheus Nunes in with a chance of facing off against the club he joined City from towards the end of the recent summer transfer window, one player currently at the Midlands club will not be able to do the same against Pep Guardiola’s side on this occasion.
Doyle unavailable for City clash

A recent report from The Telegraph had this to say on the situation.
“Doyle will not be eligible to play against City as he is technically on loan.”
After City secured their £53m move for Nunes in August, Doyle joined the Old Gold on a season-long loan deal, which includes an option for Wolves to buy the midfielder permanently in the summer for £4.3m.

Since arriving at Molineux, the Englishman has played just 14 minutes of Premier League action across two substitute appearances against Liverpool and Luton Town.
The 21-year-old started in Wolves’ 3-2 defeat to Ipswich Town in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night before being substituted off in the 73rd minute.
Looking ahead to this weekend’s Premier League match, it could be suggested that Doyle will be disappointed that his loan deal prevents him from facing off against City and showing his parent club what he can do on the pitch in a top-flight game against a top side.
