Manchester City had another successful season under Pep Guardiola last term.
Despite failing to regain the Champions League and FA Cup, City became the first side to win four consecutive Premier League trophies.
They also picked up the UEFA SuperCup and FIFA Club World Cup to further establish themselves as one of the best sides in Europe.
Now that another campaign is around the corner for the Blues to potentially make even more history and add more silverware to their cabinet, one figure in Pep Guardiola’s ranks has shared his admiration for one of his teammates and made a claim about the recognition he gets.

Rico Lewis says Phil Foden is a big inspiration for him
In the club’s August edition of their online magazine (via Man City), Rico Lewis had this to say about which other player in the squad he has taken inspiration from.
He said: “The main person I’ve learned off is Phil [Foden]. He had an amazing season last year.
“How he thinks before he gets the ball, the stuff he does on it, he only gets mentioned for the goals and assists, but he keeps the ball so well.
“The amount of times he retains possession and presses well, there’s so much to his game that he maybe doesn’t get credit for, just because of how good he is doing the things that people really care about.”
Foden was the complete package last season
Last season saw Foden find the back of the net 19 times and deliver eight assists in 35 Premier League appearances.
He also racked up the second-highest total of carries into the final third of the pitch (79) and fifth-highest number of recoveries (127) in the City squad.
This highlights some of the aspects of his game that Lewis mentioned as not being as recognised as his goals and assists.
Described by Alan Shearer some weeks ago as being “unplayable” at times last season, Foden proved himself to be the full package for his side.
