Rico Lewis says Man City have a ‘machine’ of a player who is never satisfied

Rico Lewis has labelled one Manchester City player as a ‘machine’ who is never satisfied.

That’s reflected throughout the whole of Manchester City, who despite winning a historic treble last season remain as hungry for trophies as ever.

Pep Guardiola’s side could still feasibly pull off an unprecedented second treble in a row this season.

City cruised to the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday, are already into the final eight of the FA Cup and are firmly in the Premier League title race.

The latter could well be decided on Sunday, though, in the massive match with Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp’s outfit currently sits at the top of the pile but only by a single point and a win for the Blues would give them the ascendency going forward.

City will need everyone at their best to win at Anfield, especially Erling Haaland, who Rico Lewis has moved to praise.

Rico Lewis praises Erling Haaland

Speaking to City’s in-house media, Lewis said: “Erling is a machine and has been scoring goals regularly.

“You can see on the pitch; he just wants to score. Once he scores one, it’s not enough and he scores two, three.

“That’s a credit to him and his attitude. He’s hungry for much more than just one goal a game.”

City need Erling Haaland at his best on Sunday

Erling Haaland may have eight goals in his last five games but he’s somehow not even at his best.

The Norwegian is still feeling his way back to full fitness after a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a stress reaction in his foot.

Though Haaland is still finding the back of the net, he’s also missing several key chances, especially in recent games against Chelsea and Manchester United.

The stakes don’t get much higher than Liverpool on Sunday and opportunities could be at more of a premium against a significantly better side.

If Haaland doesn’t take the great chances when they are first presented to him at Anfield, it could be costly.
