Manchester City star Ederson and Liverpool ace Alisson are two of the best goalkeepers in the world, and it is hard to pick one over the other.
And that is exactly what former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand was asked to do at the launch of the new EA FC game.
The pundit picked Ederson.

The former England international defender has noted that Liverpool and Brazil international goalkeeper Alisson makes “huge saves”, but he pointed out that Manchester City star Ederson, who also plays for Brazil, is great with his feet and is very calm.
Ferdinand said on talkSPORT: “Ederson because he is so great with his feet, so calm.
“And he makes big saves as well.
“Alisson makes huge saves, don’t get me wrong, but you are looking at the Champions League final, Ederson made some big saves in that final.”
My View: Ederson is better than Alisson
In my opinion, Manchester City’s Ederson is a better goalkeeper than Alisson of Liverpool.
Now, I have to admit that it is not easy picking between the two Brazil international goalkeepers.
Both are very good and have a lot of similarities.
However, my personal view is that Ederson is better.
The Manchester City star is much better with the ball at his feet than Alisson and is sensational at pinging long-range passes.
And, as Rio Ferdinand has noted, Ederson is very calm on the ball and under pressure.
Alisson is probably better than Ederson in one-v-ones, but you have to note that the City goalkeeper is not as exposed as the Liverpool star is.
Ederson is crucial to the way that Pep Guardiola’s City play their football.
The Brazilian often starts attacks from the back.
Some of Ederson’s passes from inside his own penalty area are like those of a world-class midfielder.
Alisson has made 180 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
The Liverpool goalkeeper has kept 79 clean sheets, has scored one goal, and has given three assists.
He has won the Golden Glove twice.
Ederson has made 224 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
The City goalkeeper has kept 105 clean sheets and has given three assists.
He has won the Golden Glove three times.
