Robbie Mustoe has said that Jack Grealish could now seriously lose his place in the Manchester City side to Jeremy Doku.

Speaking on NBC’s The 2 Robbies podcast, the pundit gave his two cents on the Belgian’s devastating display against Bournemouth, as he grabbed four assists and a goal.

Robbie Mustoe firmly believes that Jeremy Doku could usurp Jack Grealish as the first-choice left-winger at Manchester City.

Robbie Mustoe says Jack Grealish could have a ‘problem’ on his hands in Jeremy Doku

After all, the 21-year-old put in one of, if not the best performance by any player across the top five leagues this season.

As well as Doku’s end product on the day, his electric dribbling, exceptional chance creation and clincal finishing stood out against the Cherries.

As Robbie Mustoe lauded Jeremy Doku, he also pinpointed how Jack Grealish has a cause for concern due to his splendid showings at left-wing.

“This now could be a problem for Jack Grealish because Doku looks at 21 years of age, what a signing and what a performance, Rob [Robbie Earle]”, he said.

Jack Grealish still has a huge role to play going forward

While Robbie Mustoe has a point in some senses, as exemplified by the Manchester Derby, Pep Guardiola still trusts Jack Grealish over the former Rennes wideman in certain types of games.

And of course, the Englishman, branded as ‘phenomenal’ by Stephen Clemence was arguably the best player on the pitch as he stepped things up against yet another big team.

Against top opposition, Grealish’s invaluable experience, expert ball-retention and relentless defensive work still perhaps makes him a likelier pick in Guardiola’s XI than Doku.

However, against low blocks, it is likely that Jeremy Doku would be preferred due to his sensational dribbling, frightening pace and ability to produce something out of nothing.

While Jack Grealish may justifiably be slightly concerned about his place in the side, his role remains massive and, in all fairness, he has been excellent in his last two starts.
