Rodri seemed to have suffered a non-contact injury during Manchester City’s 2-2 draw against Arsenal.

The City midfielder was inside the opposition box contesting during a corner before falling to the floor in pain.

The £220,000-a-week man looked in discomfort after his injury as he was subsequently getting treatment.

Eventually, Rodri was forced to come off as he limped off the pitch.

Manchester City supporters may have felt slightly hopeful witnessing the 28-year-old being able to walk.

However, it would be short-sighted to provide any diagnosis of the Spaniard’s injury simply based on how he was walking.

Man City star injury update revealed after draw against Arsenal

With Arsenal going on to lose Leandro Trossard to a sending off, Rodri’s injury did not seem like the biggest blow either team would face in the context of the game.

But from a long-term basis, the Euro 2024 winner’s injury could prove to be a massive factor in terms of which team wins the Premier League title; such is his impact on this City side.

The former Atletico Madrid anchor would have been glad to see the Sky Blues manage to cope in his absence at the start of the campaign but one is yet to know if they can for a more prolonged period.

Especially with games set to come thick and fast for the Premier League champions, their side will be tested to the limit.

However, there seems to be a positive update about the decorated technician’s injury.

As per Cadena SER’s radio program El Larguero, Manchester City conducted tests to assess Rodri’s injury and ruled out the possibility of it being too serious.

The club doctors are believed to be waiting for the results on Monday before they can give their final verdict on the four-time Premier League winner’s injury.

Rodri has been claimed to be “more optimistic” than he was about his latest setback against Arsenal.

If the Rodri injury is not serious, Manchester City would be delighted

Considering non-contact injuries can be quite serious, Manchester City would have feared that their talisman in the middle of the park was set to be sidelined for several months.

However, it seems like Rodri’s injury is not as devastating for City and the player himself than it could be.

If the ex-Villareal orchestrator is not set to be injured for a long-term basis, the Sky Blues will be delighted.

Rodri remains one of their most important and best players and the club will perhaps only able to be manage in his absence for a short duration.

The confirmation from Manchester City and Pep Guardiola is what the supporters will be waiting to hear.

But based on the latest update, the signs seem positive.
