Manchester City have had their fair share of top players represent the club over recent years.

One particularly impressive figure they currently have in their squad is Rodri.

With 260 appearances for City under his belt, the midfielder has scored 26 goals, supplied 30 assists and helped the club win many trophies since his arrival at the Etihad Stadium in 2019.

As one of the four City players to be nominated for the 2024 Ballon d’Or, Rodri has established himself as one of the best players in Europe.

Now though, the Spain international has pinpointed one of his City teammates he has been particularly impressed with since he joined the club.

Rodri hails Man City teammate Josko Gvardiol

Appearing in a recent YouTube short shared by ESPN FC, Rodri was tasked with describing each of his City teammates in just one word.

When asked to describe Josko Gvardiol, the midfielder used the term “quality” to sum up the Croatian.

Gvardiol is a top player

During the 2023 summer transfer window, City shelled out £77m to sign Gvardiol from RB Leipzig, giving him a weekly wage of £200k-a-week.

In his debut season at the Manchester club, the defender appeared in 42 games across all competitions, chipping in with five goals and three assists as he helped his side win the Premier League title.

Peter Schmeichel even named Gvardiol as the best signing of the season in the Premier League for that campaign.

This season has seen the 22-year-old has started six of City’s eight matches, highlighting how important he is for the team.

In fact, Gvardiol has the highest combined total of tackles and interceptions (19) made in the Premier League out of anyone in the City squad this season.

Taking all of that into account, it’s easy to see why Rodri has dubbed the defender as being a quality player.
