Romano: Manchester City wonderkid likened to Neymar is set for CFG loan

As per an update provided by Fabrizio Romano, Kayky is set to sign a contract today with Bahia to confirm his loan deal from Man City.

While the Brazilian youngster was sent out on loan to Portuguese side Pacos de Ferreira this season, he was recalled in December.

Romano has mentioned that since a loan deal has been cancelled with the club, he will now head out to the City Football Group-owned side Bahia.

With several outlets describing the 19-year-old as a “left-footed Neymar”, the hype around the wonderkid was understandable.

After all, Man City themselves chose to bring him in last summer, despite the initial agreement stating that he was set to join the club in January this year.

However, the gifted winger played in just 13 Premier League 2 matches last season.

While 6 goals and 4 assists suggest Kayky’s talent, many complained that he looked extremely raw, even at youth level.

Despite the teenager making one appearance each in the Premier League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup, he is nowhere near becoming a full starter.

Patience is key in Kayky’s case

While Kayky is yet to set the world alight, it is also key to remember how young he is.

Also, adapting from Brazilian football at Fluminense to playing in England is a major leap for any player, let alone a raw prospect.

However, there is no denying how talented the young buck is.

Ultimately, additions such as Kayky are nothing short of project signings that need spells out on loan to develop and prove their class.

As a result, there is no need to lose hope when it comes to the exciting Brazilian forward.

A loan switch to Bahia and a return to familiar surroundings could do Kayky a world of good, and potentially spring his Man City career into life.
