Many Manchester City players have taken part in the 2024 European Championship this summer.
After most of them helped Pep Guardiola’s side win a fourth consecutive Premier League trophy in their previous season, 14 members of the squad were selected to represent their countries in the tournament.
With the semi-finals now having been played, one particular City player who recently featured for his country in one of these games has found himself on the end of some significant praise for his latest performance on the international stage.

Roy Keane says Phil Foden has finally shown his best for England
Speaking on ITV (via BBC Sport) at the midway point of England’s 2-1 win over the Netherlands, Roy Keane had this to say about Phil Foden’s first-half performance.
He said: “Phil Foden is running the show. He’s making the right decisions, getting in pockets, nobody is getting near him.
“When you give brilliant players time and space you’re going to get punished. We’re seeing the real Foden today.”
Foden was very busy against the Netherlands
Starting his sixth consecutive game for England in this tournament, Foden, who Alan Shearer said was the best performer in the Premier League last season, was deployed in a number 10 position having played the majority of the competition out on the left.
Before being substituted in the 80th minute, the City star had 56 touches of the ball, accurately completing all 40 passes he attempted and had three shots at goal, one of which hit the woodwork.
After the match, Gareth Southgate hailed Foden and his performance on Wednesday night, highlighting the “huge influence” he had on the game for his side.
This backs up what Keane said about the six-time Premier League champion running the show in his latest appearance for the Three Lions.
