Ruben Dias sends warning to anyone who is doubting Man City’s hunger right now

As one of Manchester City’s captains, Ruben Dias will especially be hurt by how his side has fared recently.

Having been unavailable in City’s last three defeats against AFC Bournemouth, Sporting CP and Brighton & Hove Albion as well, Ruben Dias would have been frustrated not to be able to help his side out.

Pep Guardiola stressed the importance of Dias being fit once again after the international break.

Guardiola will especially be hoping the Portuguese international returns to full fitness due to Manchester City’s defensive woes.

Nathan Ake labelled Dias as a “leader” and his presence in the backline is certainly being missed.

In their four-game losing streak, Manchester City have shipped 10 goals — which would be a worrying statistic for any team in the world — let alone last season’s Premier League champions.

Ruben Dias makes “let them talk” remark to anyone doubting Man City’s desire

The senior players at the Etihad Stadium have every reason to stay calm.

The former Benfica centre-back is certainly one of them due to the number of title fights he has been a part of against both Liverpool and Arsenal.

Dias has now revealed that if Manchester City’s hunger is being questioned, him and his teammates would enjoy that as they thrive when asked to prove their detractors wrong.

The 27-year-old told Sky Sports: “I think if there’s a fact we can talk about, it’s that we do love it when people start doubting us so we let them talk.”

Previously, Pep Guardiola compared Dias to Vincent Kompany due to how tremendous a leader he is while describing his character as perennially “positive.”

Having never lost a league title since joining City, the decorated defender would be determined not to at the end of the current campaign.

Dias’ confidence is justified by recent Man City title race comebacks

Manchester City have trailed in title races in their last four seasons by a six-point margin or more.

Yet, the Sky Blues have found a way to reign supreme in every single one of these campaigns.

But it is in the business end of the season where Dias and Co burst into life.

As a result, the treble-winner’s confidence in his team’s mentality is justified.

Dias and his teammates will likely be reflecting on their past experiences to help them overcome their ongoing rough patch.

Ultimately, Manchester City’s big hitters specifically know the mindset that is required in the face of adversity to stay hungry and win titles.

City supporters will find solace in Dias’ reaction to their side’s doubters.
