Kyle Walker has shared a heartfelt message to Cole Palmer on Instagram following his recent departure from Manchester City.

After rejecting a £35m offer from Chelsea for the winger, City have now agreed a deal worth £42.5m to sell Palmer to the west London club.

This has now led to one current City player sharing a farewell message on social media to the 21-year-old.

In a recent Instagram post on his official account, Walker had this to say to Palmer about his move away from City.

He said: “Although I’m sad to see you leave City, I wish you nothing but happiness and success in the next chapter of your life.

“You have sat next to me in the Etihad changing rooms from the start of your arrival into to the first team and I have seen you grow & develop from a boy to a man. Don’t stop learning and striving to be the best you can be and will be my little brother.”

After making 64 appearances for City’s youth sides, during which he scored 42 goals and provided 19 assists, Palmer went on to make 41 senior appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side, chipping in with six goals and two assists.

Two of those goals came earlier in the season against Arsenal in the Community Shield and Sevilla in the Super Cup.

During their time together at the Manchester club, the duo have featured in 21 games together across all competitions since the 2020/21 season.

Looking into Walker’s social media post, it’s clear to see that the full-back was very close to the youngster in the dressing room, which makes it nice to hear how impressed he has been with Palmer’s development and how much he wants to see him succeed at his new club.

Moving forward, it’ll be interesting to see if the two players will end up facing off against each other on the pitch when the treble winners take on Mauricio Pochettino’s side this season.
