Jude Bellingham actually rejected Manchester City for Real Madrid back in June – despite his father offering the Citizens some hope.
That is according to Real Madrid Board Member José Manuel Otero.
So, what was said about Jude Bellingham? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the Spaniard revealed on Remontada Blanca that Manchester City spoke to the Real Madrid No.5 this summer after making an approach.
It is said that Mark Bellingham – Jude’s father – gave Manchester City a glimmer of hope, but the England international himself only wanted to join Real Madrid.
Otero said: “They told us this the other day at lunch with Girona. People from Manchester City came to eat and told us that they had been talking to Bellingham.
“They said that the father had entertained them a little by giving them hope, but Jude said no, that he wanted to play for Real Madrid.
“That is happening with many players. When the prospect of signing for Real Madrid opens up to them, they forget everything else. Madrid is the best way to achieve glory.”

Bellingham has since taken to life at the Santiago Bernabeu like a duck to water, scoring ten goals in his first ten appearances following an £88.5m move from Borussia Dortmund in June.
Manchester City could have done nothing more in Jude Bellingham pursuit
Manchester City couldn’t have done anything more to convince Bellingham to join.
Pep Guardiola’s side won a historic treble to show the 20-year-old that he has a very strong chance of winning trophies at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City also had the financial power to outbid Real Madrid for Bellingham this summer.
However, the Birmingham-born sensation simply wanted to join the Spanish giants above all else, so there wasn’t much Manchester City could have done about the situation, as disappointing as it is.
