Sam Allardyce has managed a wide range of English clubs throughout his managerial career.
Having overlooked 834 games in total, 35 of those have come against Manchester City.
In fact, Allardyce has only faced off against Arsenal (36) on more occasions as a manager than the Blues.
Out of those 35 matches, City have won 24, drawn five and lost six
With Allardyce having such an extensive managerial career, the 69-year-old has signed many players for the clubs he’s managed.
Now though, the former Leeds United boss has shared some details about one former City star he was interested in purchasing some years ago.

Sam Allardyce says he tried to sign Edin Dzeko before Man City exit
When asked in a recent edition of No Tippy Tappy Football if he tried to sign Edin Dzeko from City in 2015 before the striker joined Roma, Allardyce had this to say in response.
He said: “Yes, but that was at Sunderland or West Ham. It was definitely one of the clubs I was at, at the time.
“It went to a number of agents and then we finally got to the player’s real agent who said I didn’t even realise he was for sale. But the club said they would sell him at the time.”
Dzeko was a top player for City
Back in the 2011 January transfer window, City paid £27m (via BBC Sport) to sign Dzeko from Wolfsburg.
In four-and-a-half years at the Etihad Stadium, the Bosnian bagged 72 goals and delivered 28 assists in 189 games across all competitions, winning two Premier League trophies along the way.
In the 2015 summer transfer window, Dzeko joined Roma on a season-long loan deal before the Italian club used their option to sign him permanently a year later.
During his time with Roma, then Inter Milan and now his current club Fenerbahce, the 38-year-old has scored a combined total of 183 goals in 415 games.
Having already proved himself to be a top striker, it’s easy to see why Allardyce wanted to sign Dzeko when City had decided they wanted to move him on.
