Savio has praised one former Manchester City player who also represented the Brazilian national team.

The 20-year-old joins City’s long list of Brazilian players after his move to the club has been made official — with names such as Fernandinho, Ederson and Elano standing out.

Luckily for Savio, there are several players in the Sky Blues squad who can speak in Portuguese — making it easier for him to settle into his new surroundings.

Names such as Ederson, Ruben Dias, Bernardo Silva and even Oscar Bobb, who famously spoke in fluent Portuguese during an interview with TNT Sports Brasil in March this year can help the youngster get accustomed to life at the Etihad Stadium with ease.

Having played for PSV Eindhoven and Girona during his loan spells from ESTAC Troyes, the Brazilian international has experience of playing in Europe and adapting to new cultures.

Man City new-boy Savio wishes to meet Fernandinho one day

After getting a feel of life in Manchester, Savio will be hoping to get on the training pitch and showcase his new teammates why the club made him their first signing of the summer transfer window.

At Girona, the youngster has established his reputation as a top talent.

The former Atletico Mineiro wideman played a crucial role in the Spanish club finishing in fourth place in La Liga and qualifying for the Champions League for the first time in their history next season.

When Savio was told about the number of Brazilians who have played for Manchester City during his interview with the club, he expressed his admiration for Fernandinho — admitting that he wishes to meet him one day.

“But I really like Fernandinho.”

“He’s a sensational guy. I don’t know him personally but from what I saw when he played here, he made so much history here and after what he did at City, I hope that one day I can meet him so he can give me some tips.”

Fernandinho could give Savio invaluable tips

Having played in a Manchester City shirt for nine years, Fernandinho would perhaps be the best candidate to give Savio some tips.

It would be completely natural for the young winger to undergo certain struggles — both on and off the pitch as he tries to adapt to living and playing football in England.

Fernandinho, however, has experienced ups and downs at City of all kinds as well as raising a family in Manchester; managing both his professional and personal life at the club for almost a decade.

As a result, the veteran could either arrange a meeting with Savio or have a chat with him to give him some advice about living in the city and working with the likes of Pep Guardiola as well as big names like Kevin De Bruyne and Rodri.

The Sky Blues’ number 26 would likely appreciate the club legend’s words.
