“Scared everyone”: £35m Manchester City player now forced to leave training during international duty

Manchester City No.31 Ederson was forced out of training while on international duty with Brazil.

It was TNT Sports Brazil who shared the news.

So, why was Ederson forced out of Brazil training? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, the situation is – fortunately – not as bad as it initially seemed.

TNT Sports Brazil explain how Ederson had to abandon training on Wednesday while being accompanied by the team doctor, which “scared everyone” in the squad.

However, the £34.7m man’s tooth cap simply fell off – he needed to leave training in order for it to be put back on.

As a result, Ederson is still expected to start in between the sticks under Fernando Diniz as Brazil face Venezuela in a World Cup qualifier on Friday.

Liverpool No.1 Alisson presumably watched his fellow countryman walk out of training on Wednesday hoping that it would mean he gets an opportunity to start.

However, Ederson is widely expected to be Brazil’s No.1 on Friday, after reclaiming his place in the starting XI under Diniz.

Manchester City will breathe a sigh of relief with Ederson

Manchester City fans will surely be relieved to hear that Ederson is okay – Pep Guardiola doesn’t have another goalkeeper like him.

Stefan Ortega is a fine glovesman, but the German is nowhere near as talented as the 30-year-old when it comes to playing out from the back.

Guardiola has already been hit hard by injuries to John Stones and Kevin De Bruyne so far this season, so it would have been a disaster to lose Ederson after successive defeats in the Premier League.

Hopefully, Manchester City get all of their key men back to the Etihad Stadium in good condition after the international break – there is work to do as the Citizens aim to return to winning ways.
