‘Scared’ Manchester City now think they might have another Cole Palmer on their hands – journalist

Manchester City saw several players leave the club during the previous summer transfer window.

One player who waved goodbye to the Etihad Stadium last summer and went on to have an impressive season at his new side was Cole Palmer.

After emerging from the Manchester club’s academy, the winger was sold to Chelsea, where he then went on to score 25 goals and deliver 15 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.

With the Blues in the midst of another summer window, which has already seen a handful of players join new sides, a journalist has now identified a current player in Pep Guardiola’s ranks who may become City’s next version of Palmer.

Journalist says clubs are starting to look at signing Oscar Bobb

While discussing Oscar Bobb in a recent video shared on the Chasing Green Arrows YouTube channel, journalist Dean Jones had this to say on the Norwegian’s current situation at City.

He said: “The real intrigue will come in terms of understanding how Man City actually keep this player happy because this guy needs minutes, there’s no doubt about it.

“There are other teams starting to wonder if he might be available on loan. So far that’s not the case but he is so good I’m actually putting him in that Cole Palmer bracket.

“I think City kind of are too, and he’s that good they’re probably scared of losing him and he goes and bangs somewhere else like Cole Palmer has done.”

City should keep hold of Bobb

During his time in City’s youth ranks, Bobb scored 31 goals and supplied 33 assists in 114 appearances across all competitions.

In his debut season in Guardiola’s senior squad last term, the 21-year-old bagged two goals and delivered two assists in 26 appearances.

These comments from Jones aren’t the first time Bobb has been likened to Palmer, as journalist Ben Jacobs said last month that Chelsea have internally discussed a potential move for the Norwegian in a similar swoop to their one for the former City youngster last summer.

In our view, despite the arrival of Savinho this summer, we feel that the Manchester club should have no intention of getting rid of Bobb this summer.
