Manchester City goalkeeper Scott Carson has shared some details on his dressing room relationship with fellow shot-stopper Ederson.

The 37-year-old has been alongside City’s Brazilian goalkeeper since his arrival at the club back in 2019 from Derby County

Speaking on the latest edition of the Official Man City Podcast, Carson had this to say about Ederson and his relationship with the Brazilian.

He said: “He’s a top, top fella. I don’t know what goes on in his head sometimes.

“At the start when I first came in, the first two, three weeks, I’m trying to speak to him, he’s trying to speak to me. I haven’t a clue what he’s saying, he’s probably not got a clue what my Cumbrian accent is saying to him and then by the end of probably three weeks, he’d say something and I’d just laugh and I’d say something and he’d just laugh.

“I think from then we’d just started getting on and ever since then we’ve got on really well. I think you can see we like a laugh and a joke but on the training ground you can see how hard I want to work and I think that respect we’ve got for each other is evident for everyone to see.”

Ederson joined City back in 2017 for a fee of £35m and has since gone on to make 286 appearances for the club across all competitions, keeping 137 clean sheets in the process.

Pep Guardiola has previously highlighted the Brazil international’s erratic behaviour, describing him as “crazy” back in April last year.

This makes it easy to see why Carson has admitted he doesn’t know what his fellow shot-stopper has going on in his head at times.

However, with the Englishman sharing his admiration for Ederson and highlighting the positive relationship the pair have, this will be great for City fans to hear.
