Garth Crooks lavished praise on to Manchester City poster-boy Erling Haaland for his remarkable outing against Burnley on Friday night.

The controversial pundit picked the £51 million (Sky Sports) man in his Premier League Team of the Week for BBC Sport.

Garth Crooks, like any and everyone who witnessed Manchester City pick Burnley apart was seriously impressed by the Erling Haaland masterclass at Turf Moor.

Garth Crooks raves about Erling Haaland as Manchester City beat Burnley

Branded as ‘brilliant’ by Alan Shearer, the 23-year-old picked up exactly where he had left off from last season with an instinctive finish within four minutes of the contest.

The former Borussia Dortmund striker doubled his side’s lead in style with an absolute belter of a first-time finish that struck the crossbar and went in.

Garth Crooks lauded Erling Haaland for his outstanding performance against Vincent Kompany’s side, saying, “We know Erling Haaland can score goals but his second against a Burnley side woefully out of their depth was sensational. What then took place as the players left the field at half-time was nothing short of staggering. Pep Guardiola might be one of the finest tacticians in the game but he has not taught Haaland how to score goals.”

Erling Haaland may already be one of the best natural goalscorers in Premier League history

Garth Crooks is right to laud Erling Haaland who showcased once again why he is widely regarded as the outright best striker in the world.

However, it is worth opening up the dialogue about the Norwegian potentially being one of the best natural goalscorers the Premier League has ever seen.

In his debut season, despite not having started every game or completed 90 minutes in many, Haaland broke the league’s longstanding goal record.

The treble-winner has every finish in the book and be it in any game state or in any type of situation, it is virtually impossible to stop him from dispatching the ball into the back of the net.

Much like how the same is said for Manchester United hero Ruud van Nistelrooy, Erling Haaland can be afforded the same compliment as the evidence is already conclusive enough to make such a bold claim.
