Sergio Busquets has claimed that Pep Guardiola is the best manager in the world.
The Spaniard brought an end to his time with Barcelona recently, after making 722 appearances for the club across all competitions since his senior debut in 2008.
With 191 of those appearances coming under the management of Guardiola, who he’s played under more than any other coach throughout his club career, the 34-year-old has shared his praise for the Manchester City boss.
Busquets praises Guardiola
Speaking to Gazzetta, Busquets had this to say about Guardiola and the influence he had on the midfielder’s career.
He said: “I’m leaving Europe, I don’t want to have to face Barcelona. I don’t know where I’m going yet.
“Pep was already the best manager in the world with the Barcelona B team, it’s just that nobody knew it. Everything he touches improves. He changed my life.
“In the 2010 semi-final, Inter did what they had to do in the best possible way. I personally prefer having the ball but that doesn’t mean their way of playing was worse than us.”

Having taken charge of 819 senior games throughout his managerial career for Barcelona, Bayern Munich and City, the 52-year-old has won 606 of them, picking up a plethora of trophies.
This, therefore, makes it easy to see why Busquets holds his former manager in such high regard.
With Guardiola in with the chance of winning the FA Cup and the Champions League this season, on top of landing his fifth Premier League title, if the Citizens were to win the treble, this would only increase the Spaniard’s stature as one of the best managers of all time.
However, with the former Barcelona manager recently claiming that the key to his success has been having the likes of Lionel Messi, Robert Lewandowski, Erling Haaland and Sergio Aguero in his sides, Busquets’ comments saying that he was already the best manager when he was in charge of Barcelona’s youth side shows that it hasn’t just been the superstar players he’s managed that have been the main factor in his managerial successes.
