Paul Merson has said that Kyle Walker’s potential exit from Manchester City would be a big blow for Pep Guardiola’s side.
The full-back has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich in recent weeks and even reportedly verbally agreed to join them.
Even though the defender is still at the Manchester club, one pundit has shared their views on the possibility of seeing him make a move away from the Etihad Stadium.
Merson baffled by potential Walker exit

In a recent column for Sportskeeda ahead of Sunday’s clash between City and Arsenal for the Charity Shield, Merson had this to say about Walker’s potential exit following the recent departures of Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez.
He said: “I’m shocked that they are also letting Kyle Walker leave. They’re a better defensive team when he plays, and he’s still got a lot to give. His departure would definitely weaken the team.”
MORE MAN CITY STORIES
Despite Walker being so heavily linked with a move to Bayern, Guardiola has said that the club will fight to keep hold of the 33-year-old.

In fact, it was reported earlier today that the treble winners have tabled a second contract offer to try and keep Walker at the Etihad beyond his current deal, which is set to expire next summer.
This shows just how eager they are to see the veteran stay where he is and continue his journey with them.
Having showed his ability in City’s 4-0 win over Real Madrid where he impressively dealt with the danger of Vinicius Junior that earned him significant praise from Thierry Henry, this is a prime example of how City could miss him if he were to leave, as Merson mentioned.
With that in mind, we feel that the Citizens are right to be doing what they can to get Walker to sign a new deal.
