Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has highlighted how defenders have now changed the way they play against him.
After having a rather successful debut season at the Manchester club, the 23-year-old is now in the midst of his second campaign with Pep Guardiola’s side.
Having scored against the majority of teams he faced last season, the centre-forward has opened up about the changes he has experienced from his opponents this time around.
Haaland highlights different challenge

Speaking in a recent interview with The Telegraph, Haaland had this to say about how opposition teams have changed their approach to dealing with him on the pitch.
He said: “I feel they are doing more things to stop me – putting more players on me. But this is okay, I don’t mind. It’s a bigger challenge and if they want to put more players on me it means there is space elsewhere (for my teammates). As simple as that. I just try and do my job and keep on doing the same as I did last season.”
During his first season at City, Haaland scored 52 goals in 53 games across all competitions, breaking numerous records along the way and lifting his first Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League trophies.

With seven Premier League games played in this current campaign, the Norwegian has found the net eight times.
This shows that although defenders may have come up with a different way of handling him in games, they haven’t been able to stop him from scoring goals on a fairly consistent basis.
Looking ahead to the remainder of the season, while Haaland may have set a very high bar for himself in terms of scoring more goals than he did in the previous campaign, he’s well on his way to having another goal-filled season that will undoubtedly help his side regain the trophies they got their hand on last time out.
