Manchester City have gone through another summer transfer window.

Looking back over this summer period, the Manchester club saw many players make moves in and out of the Etihad Stadium.

On the pitch, while the transfer window was open, Pep Guardiola’s side completed their pre-season tour of America, beat Manchester United in the Community Shield and then won both of their two opening Premier League games of the new season.

Kaveh Solhekol shares Man City’s transfer profit from 2024 summer window

Following the closing of the summer window, Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol had this to say on the matter in a recent post on his X account.

He said: “Manchester City lowest Premier League spenders this summer. Made £111m profit. Signed Savinho (£21m) and [Ilkay] Gundogan (free). Sold six players for £132m.”

City did some smart business this summer

While Solhekol mentioned the two incoming signings City made over the past few months, the club cashed in on numerous players to give them the profit they made.

Specifically, the Blues sold Julian Alvarez, Joao Cancelo, Liam Delap, Micah Hamilton and Sergio Gomez to bring in such a significant amount of cash.

In fact, City made a club record sale when they sold Alvarez to Atletico Madrid for £81m (via BBC Sport).

They also brought in £20m for Delap and over £21m for Cancelo as well as other smaller fees for the rest. (via Manchester Evening News).

Now that the 2024 summer has shut, the focus will now fully be on matters on the pitch as the Blues aim, to make even more history by potentially becoming the first side to win five consecutive Premier League trophies.
