Gabby Agbonlahor raves about Manchester City new-boy Matheus Nunes
Branded as an ‘exceptional player’ by Pep Guardiola, the Portuguese international looks like he has been a City player for years.
In both of his starts against Red Star Belgrade and Nottingham Forest, the 25-year-old has showcased his excellent ball-carrying ability, intelligence in the final third, tireless workrate and duel-winning capabilities.

“Nunes has come in and slotted straight in to the way they play”, he said.
Not just Matheus Nunes but every Manchester City signing this summer has adapted instantly
During the Pep Guardiola era, it is widely known that new signings take a season to adapt to his system and demands.
Names like Bernardo Silva, Riyad Mahrez, Rodri, Joao Cancelo and Jack Grealish instantly spring to mind.
But this time around, Gabby Agbonlahor could well have reserved the same compliment for Manchester City’s other new signings apart from Matheus Nunes.
For instance, Mateo Kovacic, before his injury became an instant starter and looked like the archetypal Pep Guardiola central midfielder.
Similarly, Jeremy Doku has looked like a breath of fresh air and has already showcased that he could become an absolute superstar in sky blue.
Josko Gvardiol seems to have cemented his place in the starting XI, as he looked ace both defensively and in possession as a left-back.
Considering experienced figures like Ilkay Gundogan, Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte left the club this summer, it really helps Pep Guardiola that the new boys have settled this quickly at the Etihad Stadium.
