Belgian pundit Eric Van Meir has been speaking about Jeremy Doku after the winger’s fine start to life at Manchester City.
The man who won 34 caps for Belgium was discussing the Manchester City No.11 on Play Sports.
So, what was said about Jeremy Doku? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the 21-year-old scored his first goal for Manchester City in Saturday’s 3-1 win over West Ham, on just his second appearance for the Citizens following a £55.5m move from Rennes.
Doku clearly impressed Van Meir, who even described the Belgium international as “more explosive than Eden Hazard” – he also tipped him to record more goal involvements than Jack Grealish at the Etihad Stadium.

MORE MAN CITY STORIES
The 55-year-old said: “In that phase (final third) of the field, he’s perhaps the best in the world. Some continually say that he scores too few goals and provides too few assists, but he’s oh so dangerous and almost continuously so. He can create danger in short spaces and also from long distance. His starting speed is insane.
Van Meir added: “He is even more explosive than Eden Hazard, who was better on the ball, but I’m sure that he will have better statistics than Grealish.”
Guardiola should consider position change for Grealish as Doku emerges at Manchester City
In our view, Pep Guardiola should think about moving Grealish centrally if Doku continues to perform in that left wing role.
The England international is nowhere near as quick as the Belgian speedster, but his close control, eye for a pass and strength would potentially make him an outstanding centre attacking midfielder.

Whatever Guardiola decides to do, this selection headache is a nice problem to have.
Manchester City clearly have an embarrassment of riches in the attacking department, to say the least, and this depth will certainly be needed as the Citizens try to better the treble from last season.
