Don Hutchison has said he has always reckoned that Pep Guardiola would have been the perfect manager to get the best out of Joao Felix.
The pundit took to Twitter to make this claim, after reacting to the news about a deal for West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta being off.
As Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix continues to get linked with a move elsewhere, Don Hutchison believes Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola could help him fulfil his potential.

Before making his blockbuster £111 million (Sky Sports) move to Diego Simeone’s side, the Portuguese international famously looked like he could join City.
In fact, a leaked phone call was released (via the Mirror) in which Jorge Mendes revealed that he tried to convince his client to sign for the Sky Blues instead of the Spanish giants due to Guardiola’s presence.
Now that things have not particularly worked out for Joao Felix in an Atletico Madrid shirt, Don Hutchison still believes Pep Guardiola would have been the ideal candidate to take his talents to the next level.
“I’ve always thought if Pep got hold of Joao Felix, he could turn him into something really special”, he said.

Don Hutchison is perhaps right in his assessment as the 23-year-old was born to play under Pep Guardiola.
Being a versatile forward blessed with technical excellence and tons of potential, the Catalan boss would perhaps have enjoyed working with him as well.
Especially during the two seasons in which City were forced to play with a false nine, Felix would have been the perfect candidate to be deployed in that role.
Even as an inside forward, Pep Guardiola would have likely used his talents and equipped him with tools to his game to the next level.
Alas, it seems unlikely that Felix will don sky blue anytime soon now.
