It has been reported that Manchester City must launch a massive bid to get a deal over the line for Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace.
This comes from Fabrizio Romano, who was speaking to GiveMeSport, after it was claimed on Sunday that Palace internally believed their £70 million valuation of the 25-year-old would put City off from signing him.
Now, Manchester City must either splash the cash on Eberechi Eze by putting in a huge bid or risk having him staying put at Crystal Palace.
Fabrizio Romano: Manchester City must launch huge bid to convince Crystal Palace to sell Eberechi Eze
Branded as ‘incredible’ by Pep Guardiola, it seems like the Sky Blues targeted him to fill the creative void in Kevin De Bruyne’s absence.
After all, the Belgian could be sidelined for as long as four months, leaving the entire burden of chance creation of his side on Phil Foden.
As a result, if Manchester City are desperate to still bring in Eberechi Eze, they must lure Crystal Palace into a sale by making a massive bid.

“Eze is a fantastic talent. But Manchester City know that Palace are being very tough in negotiations, as they were with [Michael] Olise in negotiations with Chelsea.”
“Liverpool asked for information about [Cheikh] Doucoure but Palace want to keep their stars, so it has to be something very big in terms of proposals. Otherwise, it’s going to be difficult to sign their stars in the final days of the window.”
Eberechi Eze could be a target for 2024
Manchester City could very well make a sizable bid to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace but as is well known, they tend not to overpay for players.
Be it Marc Cucurella in 2022 or Declan Rice in 2023, if City believe a transfer target’s valuation exceeds theirs, they tend to walk away from such deals.
With just two years left on Eze’s deal, it would not be a surprise to see the treble-winners target his arrival with one year left on his contract in 2024 instead.
