Phil Foden has shared his admiration for former Manchester City transfer target Jude Bellingham.
Before the midfielder joined Real Madrid last summer in a deal worth an initial fee of over £88m, City were one of the clubs linked with a transfer move for him.
Having also become a regular in the England team, Bellingham has now found himself on the end of some significant praise from one of City’s England internationals.
Foden amazed by ‘special’ Bellingham

Speaking in a recent interview with Joe Cole shared on TNT Sports’ YouTube channel, Foden had this to say about Bellingham.
He said: “Jude is such a special talent. I’ve never seen someone so young and so developed so early. You know when you look at someone and they need a bit of time to be around the first team and to learn the game, when I saw Jude, it seemed like he was a complete player straight away.
“He’s a special player and he’s doing really well at Madrid so hopefully we can play together and win things for England.”
During his time at Borussia Dortmund, Bellingham scored 24 goals and delivered 25 assists in 132 appearances.
Since joining Real, the midfielder has found the net 18 times and supplied eight assists in just 28 games across all competitions.
His overall performances in La Liga have earned the 20-year-old a strong season rating of 7.84/10 from WhoScored, making him the highest-rated player in the division.
This makes it easy to see why Foden has been so impressed with Bellingham and why he is excited by the prospect of playing alongside him and potentially winning things for England.
From a City perspective, regardless of how close they may or may not have been to landing a deal for Bellingham, it’s safe to say now that he would have been a very exciting signing for them.
