Stan Collymore has made some very bold comments about Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne.
The Belgian maestro has just finished another stellar season, that has culminated in an historic Treble.
The star was sadly forced off injured in Saturday’s Champions League final against Inter, which was bitterly disappointing for him given the same happened to him against Chelsea two years ago.
But City were still able to get the job done in Istanbul.
And for De Bruyne, it was a fine campaign, with him scoring 10 goals and making 31 assists in 49 appearances.
Despite these amazing numbers, De Bruyne has now been questioned by Collymore. The former Premier League striker believes there are ‘big question marks’ over the 31-year-old.
Stan Collymore believes there are some ‘big question marks’ over Man City maestro Kevin De Bruyne
City fans have watched De Bruyne dazzle again this season.
But that has not stopped Collymore making some very controversial comments about the star.

Writing in his column for Caught Offside talking about where Pep Guardiola could look to freshen things up for next season, he said: “Central midfield… I honestly think there are big question marks over Kevin De Bruyne.
“I think in the very, very biggest games for Belgium he hasn’t turned up and in the two biggest games for Man City, the Champions League finals, he’s got injured.
“If you believe what you read he’s City’s highest earner, yes he creates lots of chances, yes he is the main man domestically. But I do wonder if in a year’s time the club will look beyond De Bruyne.”
Stan Collymore has seriously stuck his neck out with comments about Kevin De Bruyne
These comments are going to upset some City fans without a doubt.
First of all, the comment about him not turning up for Belgium is absolutely irrelevant. Guardiola will not care one bit what De Bruyne does for Belgium And nor will most City fans. As long as he’s playing well for the club that is surely all that matters.
To say De Bruyne hasn’t turned up in the two Champions League finals is frankly ridiculous.
Against Chelsea he was clattered by Antonio Rudiger and left with a fractured eye socket. He had to go off.
Against Inter, he snapped his hamstring. Again, he had to go off.
£55 million star De Bruyne would probably be the first star many City fans would think of in terms of the ‘big game players’ in the squad.

OK, De Bruyne had a few injuries during his time at City. But he’s still played 356 games since signing. That averages out to 44.5 games per season.
But to suggest the club could look beyond him next year is bold to say the least.
Especially because De Bruyne has the intelligence to be able to change up his game as he gets older and loses some physicality. He could easily play as a deep-lying playmaker.
