Several footballers have sent messages to Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips, after he scored his first goal for England on Monday night.
The ace was on target for the Three Lions in their Euro 2024 qualifier against North Macedonia.
Phillips didn’t start the game.
But he did come on in the second-half, as he replaced Declan Rice just before the hour mark.
And it only took a matter of minutes for Phillips to make an impact.
Jack Grealish’s dangerous ball in from the left side was cleared right into Phillips’ path. And the former Leeds United man had an empty goal to tap into, after he had ghosted into the box untracked.
That was goal number six of a 7-0 win for England.
It was a lovely moment for Phillips, who was making his 26th appearance for his country.
He is obviously not known for his goalscoring prowess.
But scoring for England will undoubtedly have been on his mind.
Phillips’ goal was hugely popular at Wembley, and the star has had plenty of nice comments on social media since.
Stars including Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice send message to Kalvin Phillips after first England goal
Yesterday, Phillips uploaded on Instagram after scoring his goal in the 7-0 win.
He uploaded three photos of him celebrating, and wrote the caption ‘An honour to get my first goal for @England, a moment I’ll never forget. Unreal performance from all the boys’.
The post has already been ‘liked’ 119,000 times at the time of writing.

Many people have left comments congratulating Phillips on his achievement, including lots of footballers.
His Man City boys Jack Grealish, Phil Foden, John Stones, Rico Lewis and Nathan Ake all replied.
And there were also messages from the likes of Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice, who were delighted for their international teammate.
A brilliant moment for Man City ace Kalvin Phillips, as star scores first goal for England
It may have ‘only’ been North Macedonia. But it was great to see £45 million City signing Phillips getting his first goal for his country.
Scoring a goal for your country is something every aspiring footballer dreams of.
It was brilliant to see the way Phillips was embraced by all the England players when he scored.

He is clearly a really popular member of the squad and everyone was delighted for him.
It has been, by his own admission, a really tough season for him given his lack of minutes for City. And it’s possible he could leave City this summer as a result of his struggles.
So good for him that he could have that moment for his country.
