Manchester City midfielder Rodri has started the new season in magnificent form.

The Spaniard was an absolutely key player for City en route to the Treble last season, and obviously he got the winning goal against Inter in the Champions League final to write his name into the history books.

Rodri’s amazing form has continued into 2023/24 though.

The star has played in all five of City’s Premier League games so far.

He has also featured in the Super Cup against Sevilla, and the Community Shield against Arsenal.

Football fans know that Rodri has an amazing all-round game.

And in the eyes of many, he is the best defensive midfielder in the world.

But there is one skill of his in particular that has been on another level so far this season…

Rodri is an absolute pass master for Man City as amazing statistics emerge

Everyone knows that Rodri can pass a ball well.

It’s something that he needs to be good at given the position he plays.

But Rodri’s passing this season has been nothing short of incredible, as statistics indicate.

According to Sofascore data, Rodri has recorded pass accuracy of at least 90% in each of the five Premier League games he has played so far.

Against West Ham, it was up at 97%. At Sheffield United it was even higher at 98%, and at Burnley it was also 98%.

In four of the five games so far, Rodri has completed over 100 passes.

Against Newcastle, he completed 122/135 which is simply out of this world.

Premier League statistics indicate he has made 569 passes so far, putting him top of the chart with huge breathing room. Brighton’s Lewis Dunk is second with 504.

And according to fbref.com, Rodri has made 61 passes into the final third.

We are watching an incredible player

These passing statistics are almost unbelievable from Rodri.

We know that he’s brilliant on the ball, but even by his high standards this is outrageous.

And when you factor in that Rodri has also been solid defensively and chipped in with a couple of goals, it just shows how incredible he’s been so far this term.

City fans will just hope that he can sustain this unbelievable level of performance.

He did make some comments recently about workload, so hopefully that can be managed this season.
