The pair spoken about how the role of the goalkeeper has changed over the years, and also how tight-knit the goalkeeper’s union is at City.

Moreno has been a good signing.

He came in last summer from Arminia Bielefeld on a free transfer, and some fans were sceptical about him.

No one had really heard anything about him, so the microscope would most definitely be on him.

But Ortega very quickly proved himself a capable deputy, and earlier in the season he did have some people suggesting he should actually replace Ederson has number one.

Recently though, the Brazilian’s form has been very good.

Ortega has a great relationship with £35 million star Ederson.

The 30-year-old has revealed the former Benfica star has been brilliant with him pretty much since he signed on the dotted line.

He said (via mancity.com): “I remember Eddy was the first guy who wrote me a message after I signed my contract here.

“Since day one, it was so easy for me to settle in. Especially in the goalkeeper group because of you (Carson) and Eddy. Xabi (Xabier Macazaga) and Rich (Richard Wright) as well.

“I think we have a good energy with each other.”

Ederson deserves great credit for helping Stefan Ortega at Man City

So not only is Ederson a brilliant goalkeeper, but he’s also top teammate.

It is always good to hear things like this.

It is common knowledge that City like their squad to be in a very healthy place. When it comes to bringing players to the club, City want good characters as well as top players.

Clearly Ederson is a very good character, and Ortega has been able to do well as a result of feeling settled quickly after joining the club.

Hopefully that bond the goalkeepers’ union has will always remain strong.
