Manchester City lost their first Champions League match of the season on Tuesday night.
Following two away defeats against Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup and Bournemouth in the Premier League, City travelled to Portugal to take on Ruben Amorim’s Sporting CP side.
Despite taking an early lead, Pep Guardiola’s side ended up on the end of a disheartening 4-1 defeat.
City have now lost three consecutive matches for the first time since 2018.
Even though the Blues are in a sticky situation at the moment, one pundit has made a claim about what the rest of the season will look like for the club which will be very encouraging for the City supporters.

Stephen Warnock drops Man City prediction after Sporting defeat
After seeing City lose in midweek, Stephen Warnock made this prediction on BBC Radio 5 Live (via BBC Sport) about how he expects the Manchester club to bounce back from their trio of defeats.
He said: “At some point during the season Man City will hit top form and we will be looking back thinking, ‘Do you remember when City had that little blip?’
“They will bounce back. That is what champions do. They will be stronger and it will be no surprise.”
Bernardo Silva said City are in a “dark place”
After the Sporting defeat, Bernardo Silva discussed City’s poor form, saying this on how bad things have been recently.
“Disappointing, we’re a bit in a dark place right now and everything looks to be going way even when we play well we don’t score our chances. We concede too easily.
“So definitely we need to look inside and check what we’re not doing well, and start being better very quickly. Otherwise, it will be difficult to come back from these losses.”
However, Guardiola disagreed with Silva by saying that City actually played well against Sporting but wasn’t happy that his side conceded their last two goals in the second half.

With Warnock now claiming that the Blues will bounce back and go on to look back on this current period as just being a blip rather than the start of something more worrying, everyone at the Etihad Stadium will be making sure that that’s how it ends up, ideally with more trophies added to their cabinet as well.
An ideal way for the champions to get back on track is by heading into the next international break off the back of a victory against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League this weekend.
