Journalist Toby Cudworth has claimed that he still expects Bernardo Silva to strike a deal to leave Manchester City this summer.
Since bringing an end to his treble-winning season with the Citizens, the 28-year-old has been linked with a move away from the club, with Paris Saint-Germain and Saudi Arabian club, Al-Hilal, being mentioned with an interest in him.
Having previously been linked with a move to Barcelona, one journalist has shared a fresh claim regarding the City star’s future.
Journalist anticipates summer exit for Silva
Speaking in a recent edition of the Talking Transfers podcast, Cudworth said this about Silva and what could happen with him before the summer transfer window closes.
He said: “We still anticipate something to happen with Bernardo Silva, whether that be Saudi, PSG or Barcelona.”
City signed the Portuguese international back in the 2017 summer transfer window from AS Monaco in a deal worth a reported fee of £43m.
Since then, the midfielder has made 306 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side across all competitions, scoring 55 goals, delivering 59 assists and winning numerous trophies.
Taking into account how prominent Silva was in City’s treble-winning season last term by starting 38 of the 55 games he featured in, this showcases how important he is for the team and why his potential departure would create a big void in the squad.
