Sergio Aguero has now tipped Valentin Barco to leave Boca Juniors for Manchester City in 2024.
The Argentine made the comments during a Q&A session on Twitch.
So, what did Sergio Aguero say about Valentin Barco and Manchester City? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, there have been a lot of rumours involving the 19-year-old and Manchester City.
A story from Planeta Boca Juniors claimed that Manchester City are preparing an £8m bid for Barco ahead of the January window, and plan to join him back to Boca Juniors for the remainder of the 2023/24 campaign.
The Boca Juniors No.19 has delivered a string of outstanding performances for the Argentinian giants, catching the eye of Pep Guardiola – and also Brighton – as a result.
Now, Aguero has tipped Barco to sign for Manchester City.
As quoted by Olé, the 35-year-old said: “Very good player. Is he going to last a little longer at Boca or not? I don’t think he’ll last long. He’s very good. (Manchester) City will surely take him.”

The rumours are certainly hotting up.
An update from respected South American journalist Martin Liberman even claimed that Guardiola has already sent Barco a fitness plan to work on, so there certainly seems to be something going on.
Valentin Barco arrival could see Sergio Gomez leave Manchester City
Interestingly, Barco can play on the left of defence or in central midfield – just like Sergio Gomez.
Therefore – as the Spaniard struggles for playing time under Guardiola – it could certainly be suggested that the teenager is coming in to replace the Manchester City No.21 at the Etihad Stadium.

Gomez has only played 14 minutes of Premier League football so far this season, and having also rarely featured last term, it does seem as if Guardiola is planning to move him and Kalvin Phillips on in 2024.
Having said that, anything could happen between now and January, so be sure to keep an eye on the situation.
