Szymon Marciniak has been selected to oversee the FIFA Club World Cup final between Manchester City and Fluminense on Friday night.
The UEFA Champions League holders take on the Copa Libertadores winners inside the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for a chance to become World Champions.

Who is Szymon Marciniak?
Well, the 42-year-old is arguably the best referee on the planet right now.
Marciniak – who mainly officiates in the Ekstraklasa – was handed the mammoth task of overseeing the 2022 World Cup final between Argentina and France, where he made a number of remarkably accurate calls without relying on VAR.
In particular, the Pole’s ability to spot Marcus Thuram’s dive – when millions across the globe initially felt a foul had been committed – was an incredible decision.
Marciniak – who became a FIFA listed referee in 2011 – also oversaw the UEFA Champions League final between Manchester City and Inter Milan, another huge clash which flowed very well and involved no controversial decisions.
The Płock-born official was named The World’s Best Referee by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics earlier this year.
