TalkSPORT pundit says £60m Man City transfer target reminds him of Jack Grealish

Jack Grealish has been one of Manchester City’s biggest signings under Pep Guardiola.

Back in the 2021 summer transfer window, the Blues shelled out a club-record fee of £100m to sign the winger from Aston Villa.

During his time at the Etihad Stadium, the Englishman has won numerous domestic and European trophies, playing a prominent role in two of his three seasons at the club.

Ahead of his fourth campaign with the Citizens, Grealish has found himself being likened to another Premier League star who has been linked with a move to Pep Guardiola’s side in recent weeks.

Jamie O’Hara claims Eberechi Eze is just like Jack Grealish

Speaking on talkSPORT, Jamie O’Hara said this about Eberechi Eze and how he reminds him of Grealish.

He said: “He’s a really good player. He glides on the pitch. He reminds me a bit like Grealish when he was playing at Aston Villa. Got that freedom to run with the ball, make things happen, drifting around the game.

“I think when Grealish went to Man City he became a little bit more robotic but Eze has still got that freedom about his game.”

Eze vs Grealish

After being linked with a move for the Crystal Palace midfielder last summer (via Daily Mail), the Manchester club are reportedly in the mix to sign him this summer according to the Daily Mirror.

Comparing Eze’s previous Premier League campaign with Grealish’s final one at Villa (2020/21), the duo racked up a similar number of successful take-ons, with Eze having 69 and the now-City star racking up 65.

This highlights the similarities between the duo, particularly when Grealish was at Villa as O’Hara mentioned.

With Eze, who has a £60m release clause in his contract according to the Daily Mail, reportedly preferring a move to City over fellow interested party Tottenham Hotspur, we feel that the chance to have another version of Grealish in their ranks is definitely something the club should consider making a move for.
