Manchester City boast one of the best squads in European football.
After winning the Treble, Pep Guardiola’s side followed that up last season by winning a fourth consecutive Premier League trophy.
Over the summer, City have had more players (14) feature in the 2024 European Championship than any other side in the division.
Looking ahead to Sunday’s final, one pundit and former international star has heaped praise on one of the City players who has played a key role for club and country in recent years.

Teddy Sheringham says Rodri is a midfield ‘machine’
Appearing on talkSPORT, Sheringham had this to say about Rodri on the topic of how Spain have fared in the Euros after their 2-1 victory over France in the semi-final.
He said: “When you’ve got someone in there like Rodri who hardly ever gives the ball away, he’s like a Rolls-Royce of a machine in there, makes the game look so easy.”
Rodri has been one of City’s best signings
Back in the 2019 summer transfer window, City paid £62m to sign the midfielder from Atletico Madrid.
Since then, the Spaniard has cemented himself as one of Guardiola’s most vital players, racking up 257 appearances across all competitions, across which he has scored 26 goals and delivered 30 assists.
Looking back over his previous Premier League season with the Blues, Rodri featured in all but four games, three of which were due to suspension, which happened to be the three games City lost throughout the entire campaign.
Then with Spain in the current tournament, the 28-year-old has played more minutes (475) than any other outfield player in the squad, which shows that he is just as important for his country as he is for his club.
Having been described by Andy Townsend as being City’s most important player, Rodri has undeniably been one of the club’s best signings, in our view.
