‘That’s a shocker’… Alan Brazil worried after what happened to £300k-a-week Man City player last night

TalkSPORT host Alan Brazil has been left concerned about one Manchester City player following the win over Luton Town.

Manchester City advanced to the FA Cup quarter-finals on Tuesday night with an emphatic 6-2 victory over the Hatters.

Though the home side had a brief fightback, City largely dominated thanks to Erling Haaland’s five-goal haul and four assists from Kevin De Bruyne.

Mateo Kovacic fired in a sixth to ensure Pep Guardiola’s side entered the hat for the next round in style.

However, it wouldn’t be a perfect night for City as Jack Grealish had to leave the pitch in the 38th minute with another injury.

The latest blow has left Alan Brazil very concerned for the rest of the £300,000-a-week forward’s season and Euro 2024 campaign.

Concern for Jack Grealish after latest injury

Speaking on TalkSPORT, Brazil said: “That is a shocker, isn’t it?

“It really is. 12 games to go and then suddenly you are thinking about the Euros. That will break his heart if he’s not playing any part of that.”

Brazil’s co-host Ally McCoist added: “You saw him last night and it looked like Phil Foden was consoling him because he was obviously, totally dejected.”

“Well the big question is whether he needs surgery,” Brazil continued. “If he does that could be the season over and the Euro dream over.”

Man City need Jack Grealish fit

It’s not yet clear how serious the injury Grealish suffered is but it certainly doesn’t look good.

It was the 28-year-old’s first game back after suffering an initial groin muscle strain against FC Copenhagen two weeks ago.

It appears to be a similar injury this time, too, and Grealish was visibly upset as he left the field and moved to cover his face when he sat in the dugout.

It’s been a difficult season for the No.10 when he has been fit, with Phil Foden and Jeremy Doku taking his spot on the left, and now injury problems are making it worse.

City will be keeping everything crossed that it’s just another minor knock and it isn’t as bad as Grealish feared.

With the big and important games coming as the business end of the season hots up, City will need Grealish for the control and composure he brings to the side.
