Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has shared details on how the media in Norway report about him when he hasn’t scored in a match.

The 23-year-old has established himself as one of the most prolific goalscorers in Europe right now.

As a result of that, the City star has shared some details on what gets said about him on the occasion he doesn’t manage to add to his impressive goal tally.

Speaking in a recent interview with The Telegraph, Haaland had this to say about the way the Norwegian media report about him if he hasn’t scored in a game.

He said: “Norwegian media when I don’t score: Goalless! That’s the headline. That’s how it is. It’s a good thing. I am not complaining at all but, also, I signed for City to score goals. So, it was also a bit expected – maybe not so many! – but I am still the one who is going to get the ball in the back of the net.”

Having scored 52 goals in 53 appearances across all competitions for City last season, it’s easy to see why the Norwegian media may see games that Haaland hasn’t scored in to be particularly newsworthy.

On the international stage, the centre-forward has found the net 25 times in 26 appearances for Norway, which shows that he can be just as deadly in front of goal for his country as well as his club.

With the City star claiming that this sort of focused and unusual media coverage doesn’t bother him, this should reassure lots of supporters of the Manchester club that their star striker will not be distracted from his main objective of being a top goalscorer for his side.

Moving forward, if the treble winner can continue to find the back of the net on a regular basis, he’ll give his side a massive chance of winning more titles.
