Eddie Howe has praised Pep Guardiola ahead of the Carabao Cup clash between Newcastle United and Manchester City on Wednesday.
The 45-year-old spoke to The Chronicle about the Spaniard.
So, what did Eddie Howe say about Pep Guardiola? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the Amersham-born tactician believes Manchester City possess the best manager in the world.
Howe said: “I think it’s the draw no-one wanted. They are the best team in the world, and have been for some time. Regardless of what team they pick, they’ve got world-class players, for me they’ve got the best manager in the world as well.”
The Newcastle boss is not the only person who thinks this.

Red Star Belgrade’s Barak Bakhar said the same thing before Manchester City’s recent 3-1 win against the Serbian giants in the UEFA Champions League.
Clearly, the £378,846-a-week Guardiola is highly respected amongst his colleagues, which comes as no surprise whatsoever after last season’s treble win and his achievements before that at Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
Eddie Howe can cause Pep Guardiola and Manchester City problems
Make no mistake about it, this is a tough test for the Citizens.
Manchester City narrowly scraped by Newcastle with a 1-0 win in the Premier League back in August thanks to a goal from Julian Alvarez.
Newcastle also managed to grab a point in a thrilling 3-3 draw in the Premier League at St James’ Park last season, so the Magpies are no pushovers, to say the least.

Hopefully, Manchester City can overcome this difficult challenge on Wednesday, and continue their usual dominance in the Carabao Cup after last season’s shock exit at the hands of Southampton, who ultimately finished bottom of the Premier League.
If the Citizens can win this competition, a historic sextuple could be on after August’s UEFA Super Cup victory – should Manchester City defend their three trophies from last season, and also win the FIFA Club World Cup in December.
