Jack Grealish has highlighted one period during the previous season at Manchester City that he feels was the most important for him.

The winger ended his second season at the club by winning his second Premier League title, first FA Cup and first Champions League.

With the Englishman and the rest of his teammates now looking to regain their titles, Grealish has shared some details regarding which point of the previous campaign ended up being the moment things started to click for him and the team.

Speaking in a recent video shared on the club’s official YouTube channel, Grealish had this to say when asked about what he saw as being his most important period of last season.

He said: “Last season, the most important month of the whole season was April. I remember we had nine games and City do a thing going ‘this month’ and it had all the games.

“And I remember City put something up on Twitter or Instagram and it was like ‘what results would you want from this month?’ I remember sitting there thinking ‘imagine winning nine of them?’

“Bearing in mind we had Liverpool, Arsenal, Bayern Munich at home, Bayern Munich away, we had tough games, but you can correct me if I’m wrong but I’m sure I was the only player to start all nine games.

“Even in the Cup, for example, we played Sheffield United in the semi-final at Wembley and I thought maybe he’s going to rest me, but he played me, rested Ederson, rested Rodri. I just felt a love from him and I felt like he trusted me.

“I felt like that April time was probably the best moment of my City career, really.”

Looking back to April, this was a very significant month for Pep Guardiola’s side as they won seven and drew one of their eight played games in all competitions.

Having featured in all of those eight games, Grealish scored two goals and provided three assists for his side, playing a big role in seeing City ultimately win the three titles they lifted at the end of last season.

This makes it easy to see why the winger was so complimentary about his manager and the faith Guardiola had in him by playing him so regularly in such a crucial period of the season.

Moving forward, if the England international can continue playing regularly for the Citizens throughout the remainder of this season and add more goals and assists to his club record, he could give his side a great chance of being successful again domestically and in Europe.
