Kolo Toure has lavished praise upon his brother and former Manchester City teammate, Yaya Toure.

Speaking to City’s magazine in their October issue, the former Wigan Athletic manager gave his two cents on the Ivorian legend

Kolo Toure showered Yaya Toure with praise as he is perhaps the best candidate to describe his skillset and mentality.

Kolo Toure raves about ‘magician’ Yaya Toure

The three-time Premier League winner has gone down as one of the greatest midfielders in Premier League history, with Micah Richards saying that the Sky Blues have lacked a ball-carrier like him until Mateo Kovacic’s arrival.

Especially in his prime, the AFCON winner is considered as one of the most devastating players that English football has ever laid its eyes on.

Now, Kolo Toure has lauded his own brother and ex-teammate Yaya Toure as a player while shedding light on his love for football as well as his mindset.

“The magician! Yaya is creative. Yaya is ruthless. Yaya is a winner. Yaya has a big passion for football. And Yaya will do everything to win!”, he said.

Toure is one of the most unique players to have ever graced the game

It is nice to see Kolo Toure giving his brother the credit he deserves as some perhaps do not realise how much of a unicorn he was as a footballer.

Despite his striking stature, the former Barcelona midfielder was so much more than just a physical specimen.

Yaya Toure was immensely technically gifted, one of the best ball-carriers the game has seen, a goalscorer, blessed with a wand of a right peg whilst also being able to run the tempo of a game.

Defensively as well, especially at Barcelona, Toure was top notch, having been used by Guardiola as a defensive midfielder and in central defence as well.

In terms of completeness, not many come close to the Manchester City legend.
