Nedum Onuoha has said that no player at Manchester City has improved more under Pep Guardiola than Kyle Walker.

Speaking to ESPN FC, the pundit also named the likes of Rodri and Manuel Akanji.

But of course, as Rico Lewis recently claimed, Kyle Walker has gone on to become “one of the best full-backs to ever play in the Premier League.”

Signed for £50 million (Guardian) by Manchester City in 2017, the Englishman has been a mainstay during his club’s golden era.

Winning five Premier League titles, a Champions League, two FA Cup trophies and four Carabao Cups alongside a treble, Walker has cemented his status as a great of the game.

Now, Nedum Onuoha has highlighted how Kyle Walker has shown the most improvement out of any other player at Manchester City under Pep Guardiola.

“I think possibly, to start off with, this is probably a bit of a sleeper one but Kyle Walker because I thought, maybe he wouldn’t thrive and be perceived as one of the best full-backs in the world”, he told ESPN FC.

“I think he has.”

“I’d probably name those three [Kyle Walker, Rodri and Manuel Akanji] but Kyle Walker’s the main one.”

Rodri is perhaps more deserving of this title than Kyle Walker

Nedum Onuoha perhaps picked a better option than Kyle Walker in Rodri, who has grown leaps and bounds under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

Even during his last season at Tottenham, a case could be made that Walker was the best right-back in the Premier League.

The same cannot be said about Rodri during his first two campaigns at City, where it seemed like it would be impossible for him to ever emerge as the rightful heir to Fernandinho’s throne.

Fast forward to the present and some would even argue that the 27-year-old has surpassed the Brazilian legend, which speaks volumes of his astonishing improvement in sky blue.
