Jack Grealish has now shared what Pep Guardiola told Manchester City players to do against BSC Young Boys.

The England international spoke to TNT Sports after the 3-0 win.

So, what did Jack Grealish say about Pep Guardiola? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, the Manchester City No.10 returned to the starting XI on Tuesday night, and made quite the impact.

Grealish provided the assist for Phil Foden to make it 2-0 after Erling Haaland had opened the scoring from the penalty spot.

When discussing the incisive pass which put his fellow England international through on goal, the £100m man revealed it was a product of Guardiola’s instructions.

Grealish said: “As they were playing with a five, the manager asked us to hit the ball in that area straight away instead of passing it to each player, because it obviously took longer. I wanted to get it straight out to Phil (Foden), let him go at the defender one-v-one and that’s what he did.”

It was a fantastic goal from the Manchester City No.47 after an equally impressive pass from the 28-year-old, on a night where he reminded people what he is capable of following a barrage of plaudits for Jeremy Doku on Saturday.

That aforementioned praise for Doku often involved a negative mention of Grealish, as they both tend to line up in the same position on the left.

Pat Nevin of BBC Sport even told the Manchester City No.10 to find a new role as a result.

However, Grealish showed in the 3-0 win over BSC Young Boys that nobody is taking his starting role without a fight.

WhoScored shows that the Birmingham-born maestro remarkably provided seven key passes at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night, far more than any other player on the pitch.

Grealish also had three shots and won five freekicks for the treble winners – his industrial side was on show as well with two successful tackles.

As a result, the £300,000-a-week man actually received the WhoScored Man of the Match award with an 8.2 match rating.

Over to you, Doku…
