As Manchester City ran riot against Manchester United with a 3-0 victory, Garth Crooks said that Kyle Walker is now at his peak.

In his Premier League Team of the Week for BBC Sport, the controversial pundit picked the £50 million (Guardian) man.

Now, Garth Crooks has pinpointed that Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker looks like he is playing at his absolute best after he put in yet another rock-solid performance against Manchester United.

Garth Crooks says Kyle Walker is now in his prime after Manchester City beat Manchester United

Branded as ‘exceptional’ by Paul Lake, the 33-year-old tamed Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho on Sunday, every time the hosts tried to cause City problems on the break.

In possession, Walker kept things simple but defensively once again and in another big game, he was virtually flawless.

So much so that Garth Crooks said Kyle Walker is playing the best football of his career after Manchester City vanquished Manchester United.

“This player is having the most amazing period of his career. He’s clearly looking after himself because he’s started every league game for City this season. I never thought he would become one of the finest full-backs in the country – he’s now one of the best full-backs in Europe”, he said.

As Manchester City beat Manchester United, Garth Crooks also noted how much Kyle Walker has elevated his game under Pep Guardiola.

“His growth under Pep Guardiola has been astounding. The manager is now turning the defender into a leader. His performance was as solid as a rock against a Manchester United side who were totally outplayed. This is not just a very different player under Guardiola but a very different man.”

Kyle Walker is the best right-back in Premier League history

Despite being well over 30 years of age, Manchester City colossus Kyle Walker continues to come out on top against sides like Manchester United, leaving the likes of Garth Crooks with their jaws on the floor.

The inevitability about Walker keeping one of the best wingers in Europe quiet is astounding.

To add to that, the Englishman is also top-drawer in possession.

But mainly, the manner in which he has adapted to a multitude of tactical setups as well as gone from being the best attacking right-back in the league to have turned into a defensive behemoth at City is extremely impressive.

The sustained quality Kyle Walker has shown for both Tottenham and Manchester City whilst having completed club football merits him of such a title.
