Angel Di Maria has named Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez as one of the young players he likes the most right now.
The former Manchester United winger spent just one year at Old Trafford where he made 32 appearances and scored four goals in the process.
Despite being a former Red Devil, the 35-year-old has recently shared his admiration for one of City’s current players.
Di Maria raves over Alvarez

In a recent post on The Residency, Di Maria had this to say when asked by a user who his favourite young footballer at the moment is.
He said: “Julian Alvarez is one of the young players I like the most.”
Since arriving at the Manchester club last summer, the 23-year-old went on to make 49 appearances in all competitions throughout his debut season, scoring 17 goals and providing five assists along the way.

Having also scored four goals in seven appearances during Argentina’s World Cup-winning campaign in Qatar, during which Di Maria scored one goal in five games, it’s easy to see why the veteran has highlighted the City star as one of the young players he admires the most at the moment.
Moving forward, even though he has Erling Haaland to compete with for a place in Pep Guardiola’s side at City, it’ll be interesting to see once the next season gets going how much Alvarez has evolved since his first campaign in England and if he’ll be able to score more goals than he did last time out.
