Pundit Scott Minto has claimed that Enzo Fernandez would be a much more effective player for Manchester City than he is for Chelsea.
Back in the previous January transfer window, the west London club splashed out a then club-record fee of over £106m to sign the midfielder from Benfica.
Even though the Argentine hasn’t been at Chelsea for even a full year yet, he has found himself being spoken about in terms of how he’d be able to perform for other Premier League sides.
Pundit reckons Fernandez would be better for City

Speaking in a recent episode of talkSPORT’s Premier League All Access podcast, Minto had this to say about Fernandez and what he’d be able to do in City’s current team.
He said: “I think Fernandez is a really good player, he’s technically brilliant. I think if he were to come into an already slick side, say a City or even an Arsenal or Liverpool, the numbers would be a lot better.
“I think at times last season he was carrying the team. His numbers aren’t good, and he needs to step it up as much as possible, but we’ve been saying that for the past 18 months about Chelsea haven’t we?”
Since making his big money move to Stamford Bridge, Fernandez has made 37 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring one goal and providing three assists along the way.
Having featured in all but one of Chelsea’s 13 Premier League games this season, the midfielder has made more progressive passes (102) than any other player at the club, in addition to having the highest rate of shot-creating actions per 90 minutes (4.2) in the squad.
As well as that, Fernandez has made more blocks (22) than any other player in Mauricio Pochettino’s side, showing that he does his bit off the ball defensively as well as being dangerous on it in attacking situations.
In terms of what Minto had to say about him, we feel that if Fernandez were in City’s team and playing under Pep Guardiola, his already impressive numbers could be heightened even further, particularly in an attacking point of view.
