Manchester City are the champions of Europe, and the scenes at full-time last night will live long in the memory of every City supporter.
Fans were jubilant, players were breaking down in tears and the staff were all over the pitch. It was incredible to see.
Once the dust settled, City’s players were all celebrating together, but one player was away from the main group.
Indeed, according to Steve Crossman, speaking on the BBC Radio Five Live Football Daily Podcast, Ilkay Gundogan was taking some time away from his teammates after the final whistle last night, walking around the pitch with his hands on his head taking it all in.

Crossman noted that Gundogan was away from the rest of his teammates.
“The only Manchester City player not huddled around with everyone else is Ilkay Gundogan, he has his hands on the back of his head as he now wanders over to his teammates the Manchester City captain,” Crossman said.
Saying goodbye?
As much as we hate to say it, this could be a small sign that Gundogan’s future lies away from the Etihad.
Of course, we could be miles wide of the mark and a new contract could be announced soon, but the fact that the midfielder was away from the rest of the squad with his hands on his head looking rather emotional could be a sign that he’s about to say goodbye.
After such a fantastic end to the season, there won’t be a single City fan who doesn’t want Gundogan to stay, but with Barcelona beckoning, there’s every chance that last night was Gundogan’s final game for City.
If this is the end for the captain, he’s gone out on the highest of highs.
